Employee Wellbeing in Northern Arizona Healthcare

This pilot project studies culture and management practices within participating healthcare institutions and their impact on employee wellbeing. The importance of employee wellbeing is particularly salient in the healthcare industry, as improvements in employee workplace experiences not only benefit those employees but also benefit the patients for whom they care. Previous research has shown that employee attitudes have a significant relationship with patient satisfaction levels.  Additional evidence suggests that the well-managed organizational cultures in healthcare organizations are related to both the quality of patient care provided as well as the financial health of the organization.  New research is needed to better understand the management practices that impact employee wellbeing both directly and indirectly.
