The NARBHA Institute announced today that The Guidance Center is now a subsidiary of the Institute, a not-for-profit public charity whose goal is to advance wellbeing and integrated health in northern Arizona.

Flagstaff’s The Guidance Center is Now a Subsidiary of The NARBHA Institute
The two not-for-profit organizations will work together to advance the health and wellbeing of individuals and families in northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Aug. 27, 2018 – The NARBHA Institute announced today that The Guidance Center is now a subsidiary of the Institute, a not-for-profit public charity whose goal is to advance wellbeing and integrated health in northern Arizona.

As a subsidiary of the Institute, the Guidance Center, a not-for-profit community mental health center with locations serving Flagstaff, Williams and surrounding Northern Arizona, will continue its mission of delivering quality, integrated behavioral health solutions for individuals and families in the region.  “We are proud to welcome the Guidance Center and its dedicated staff to the NARBHA Institute family,” said Mary Jo Gregory, President and CEO of the NARBHA Institute. “This change represents a positive new chapter in the Guidance Center’s impressive history of providing mental health services to the diverse communities of northern Arizona. Both the NARBHA Institute and the Guidance Center have a long tradition of commitment and service and together we’ll have the aligned vision, resources and culture to enhance services and embrace the evolving health needs of individuals and families we serve.”

“The Guidance Center will play a key role in the NARBHA Institute’s vision for advancing wellbeing in northern Arizona through innovative and collaborative initiatives that inspire hope, energize coalitions and amplify diverse voices,” said James Dykes, who will lead the newly appointed Board of the Guidance Center.

“We chose the NARBHA Institute because of their vision of integrated care, their commitment to the importance of the social influences of health, and their reputation as a transformative partner in our region,” said Beth Otterstein, former Chair of the Guidance Center Board. The NARBHA Institute will continue to rely on the expertise of the Guidance Center’s current leadership
and staff. “We recognize and are grateful for the experience and engagement of the Guidance Center employees and their efforts to provide care that delivers the best outcomes to those they serve,” Gregory said.

Lauren Lauder, the Guidance Center’s current interim CEO, has accepted the position of CEO of the Guidance Center. Lauder is a gifted leader, known for her authenticity, collaborative style, and committed service in northern Arizona. Dykes, the new Guidance Center Board Chair, is a 34-year Flagstaff resident and respected community leader, who served as Counsel at W.L. Gore and Associates until his recent retirement. Otterstein has agreed to serve on the new Guidance Center Board and share her governance and nursing expertise.
