Karin Hallberg, Ph.D.

Karin Hallberg has a Master’s degree with a Suzuki Pedagogy emphasis, a master’s in counseling and human relations, and a doctorate in educational psychology. Her research focuses on the impact of early instrumental musical instruction on working memory and attention in kindergarten children. Serving as a clinician at Suzuki Workshops around the world, she was recently the Principal Lecturer of Violin/Suzuki Pedagogy and Coordinator of Northern Arizona University’s Community Music and Dance Academy Suzuki String Program. Honored with the Viola Arts Educator Award from the Flagstaff Arts Council in 2014, she is Assistant Concertmaster and Principal Violin II in the Flagstaff Symphony. She is also the coordinator, instructor, and grant writer for the K-2 Suzuki string program at Marshall Magnet Elementary School.
